Meet Our Dental Team

Dr. Leslie Dort M.Sc., DDS

Dr. Leslie Dort is a general dentist whose practice is limited to treating patients with snoring and sleep apnea. As RANA’s Dental Laboratory director, Dr. Dort works closely with all medical and dental professionals.

Dr. Dort graduated with a DDS from the University of Western Ontario in 1980 and has since completed her M.Sc. in Health Research and Health Economics. Following graduation, Dr. Dort practiced general dentistry in both urban and rural locations in Canada, before focusing on the treatment of sleep-disordered breathing. As an active member of the University Of Calgary’s Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Dort engages in research investigating the diagnosis and treatment of sleep-disordered breathing. She lectures to dentists and physicians in Canada and the US.

Stuart Talbot RDT, CDT

Stuart joined RANA's dental team in 2006 bringing his 30 years of experience and attention to detail to ensure the superior quality and comfort of all RANA's dental appliances. Stuart manufactures and repairs all the appliances in our laboratory to standards that meet or exceed those established by the Alberta College of Dental Technicians.

Before joining RANA, Stuart graduated with honours from the Dental Technology program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). His career began in Calgary as an orthodontic technician working with a prominent orthodontist, but he also expanded his dental experience by working for a full mouth reconstruction crown and bridge laboratory. Upon completing his provincial practical and written theory exam, Stuart was granted his Registered Dental Technologist designation. This designation allowed him to open his own dental laboratory in Calgary, which he ran for 27 years, specializing in orthodontic appliances, cast partial dentures and complete dentures. During that time, he also served on the council for the Alberta Association of Dental Technicians and coordinated annual dental conventions. Most recently, Stuart was granted certification in the USA as a Certified Dental Technician by the National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology. He constantly upgrades his level of knowledge and skills by attending dental conventions and continuing education courses approved by the Alberta College of Dental Technicians.

In his spare time, Stuart enjoys riding his mountain bike, snowboarding, coaching and playing hockey and paddling a kayak.

Darcy Andres RRT

Darcy joined RANA in May 2005, as the VP of Clinical Programs and Services for RANA’s Calgary offices. Darcy’s therapy background combined with his management experience and training makes him an excellent leader in respiratory care for RANA patients.

Darcy was originally trained as Respiratory Therapist, graduating from SAIT in 1982. After graduation, Darcy worked as a general duty Registered Respiratory Therapist, initially in Calgary, then in Winnipeg and Thompson, MB. In 1988, Darcy moved back to Calgary as the Critical Care Supervisor at the Foothills Medical Centre. He eventually moved into management as the Respiratory Therapy Department Manager at the Foothills Medical Centre. After regionalization of Alberta’s health care system, Darcy served as Respiratory Therapy Department Site Coordinator at both the Foothills Medical Centre and Peter Lougheed Centre. He also evaluated regional respiratory services through a special project secondment for the Calgary Health Region.

Outside of his employment experience, Darcy has served as co-chair of the COPD Accreditation team for the Calgary Health Region. Darcy is currently enhancing his management skills by completing an MBA from Edinburgh School of Business.
